February 1st 2015 is national Yorkshire pudding day and we serve a tasty homemade yorkshire pudding with each of our meat & vegetarian choices on the weekly Sunday roast lunch options.
The first written recipe was in 1747 by Hannah Glasse, who seasoned her batter with grated nutmeg and ginger. We aren’t sure this would work with the contemporary method of serving them with the savoury course. Further reading on this regional classic’s historical background and facts about this essential inclusion on the British traditional Sunday roast to be found at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/11041921/The-Kitchen-Thinker-the-history-of-Yorkshire-pudding.html
Featured below is an image of our choices on offer for that weekend with table arrival times between noon-15:30. Reservations in advance highly recommended.
